Welcome to the press page of Museum Volkenkunde of the National Museum of World Cultures. On this page you will find information about press visits, journalistic film and photo shoots for media productions, and our press releases. For press questions, please contact pers@volkenkunde.nl.

Press visit

Press is welcome to visit the museum and the exhibitions during the opening hours. Free admission is possible, register at pers@volkenkunde.nl, and with permission from the Marketing & PR department. Make sure you bring a valid press card.

Film and photography

Film- and photo shoots are possible on request, mail to pers@volkenkunde.nl. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Photography with flash is not allowed; a tripod is only allowed with prior consultation;
  • Objects stay in place;
  • Film teams and photographers have to stick to the museum routing and are not allowed to go behind restricted areas.
  • Large bags and backpacks are not allowed in the museum. You can use the lockers;
  • Due to covid, wearing a face mask is mandatory.
