Each of us seeks health and happiness, yet the way we go about it, may differ.
The large exhibition HEALING POWER presents from 12 July healing traditions across the world. With objects from the Arctic to South America brought together with work by contemporary artists such as Damien Hirst and Marina Abramović.
If you don’t feel well, it may seem obvious to consult a doctor. Some people turn to treatments that can be traced back to centuries-old traditions. HEALING POWER introduces a range of ritual specialists and healing practices that are important to many people around the world. The range is very wide: from Winti and ayahuasca to shamans and witches.
Spiritual journey Join us on a spiritual journey. Admire the special ethnographic collections with magical pouches full of medicinal substances, meaningful jewellery, and shamans’ coats. Wonder about the many amulets from all over the world: from Greenland to Pakistan and from Mexico to Tibet.
HEALING POWER brings different worlds together. Also, artists are inspired by the theme of healing. The exhibition presents objects from its own collection with work by (contemporary) artists including Damien Hirst, Remy Jungerman, Joseph Beuys and Marina Abramović.
