Maori Haka - Museum Volkenkunde
Permanent activity

Maori Haka

On the rythm of pounding feet, eyes are being rolled and tongues are shown in a threatening way.

How this is precisely done and with which words is something that the participants will learn in this workshop.

The impressive Haka, a war dance from the native population of New Zeeland, the Maoris, is a combination of song and dance. Even the national rugbyteam, the All Blacks, perform this dance before their games to instill fear in their opponents.
